The Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (IOER) in Dresden is offering the following position starting as soon as possible:

Software Developer Research Information System (f/m/d)

TV-L (collective agreement of the federal states), remuneration group E 11,

full-time (40 hours per week, part-time possible),

initially limited to two years with the option to extend the term (position available and permanent appointment intended)

Job-specific background

You will work in the Research Management team in the Institute's Directorate and will be in constant dialogue with the Research, Administration and Scientific Infrastructure Areas. The professional support of socially relevant and current research is important to you and you develop solid and efficient digital solutions and processes for this. You pay particular attention to the constantly changing requirements of research evaluation. You will work together in small and large groups on projects of varying scope.

Your tasks include

  • Planning, implementation and support of application-related digitisation projects and digital processes for research management and administrative areas, including development and support of a document management system, further development of a research information system
  • Further development of existing controlling and planning instruments, quality assurance and information provision
  • Monitoring, maintenance and servicing of the institute's own web applications as well as new and further developments
  • Software quality assurance, documentation of own developments
  • Creation of instructions and training documents for internal operations

Expected skills and competences

  • Degree in computer science, information technology or a related technical discipline or other data-related discipline with a focus on software engineering or programming, or equivalent professional training and experience
  • Sound knowledge of at least one common programming language (e.g. Python, PHP, HTML, CSS, SQL) and programming experience in complex software projects, especially in the development of web applications
  • Experience in software development
  • Very good knowledge of database technologies (SQL) and decentralised version control (Git)
  • Practical experience in project management, preferably in the digitalisation of public administration organisations, is desirable
  • Knowledge of handling sensitive data in connection with the GDPR is also desirable
  • Structured and goal-orientated working style and strong ability to work in a team
  • Willingness to undergo further training
