Research Assistant (m/f/d)

You task:

The competence field „Design of Composite Structures“ deals with the stress and production-oriented development of optimized lightweight structures made of fibre-reinforced plastic composites (FRP) for new applications as well as for the substitution of existing structures made of other materials. Finite element program systems (e.g. ABAQUS), special meshing and CAD programs (e.g. ANSA, SolidWorks) and optimization tools are used.

  • Scientific work on research projects with a focus on pressure vessel development (FE simulation, material and component testing) for hydrogen storage with maximum lightweight construction quality and optimum utilization of space in the aircraft
  • Acquisition of research projects
  • Presentation of research results at internal and external events
  • Supervising the research work of students

Your profile:

  • You work analytically, precisely, in a structured manner and you´re very well organized and highly motivated
  • You develop customized solutions independently and creatively
  • You value open and clear communication
  • You are collegial/cooperative and are characterized by a high willingness to learn and perform
  • You have very good written and spoken German and English skills
  • You have an above-average university degree (Dipl.-Ing., Master) or another comparable qualification, desired specialization (mechanical engineering, materials engineering, aerospace engineering, civil engineering or similar
  • You have extensive knowledge in the creation of 3D models and CAD drawings, preferably with SolidWorks, ideally with relevant experience in finite element analysis
