The Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy is a pioneer and a driver of bioeconomy research. We create the scientific foundation to transform agricultural, food, industrial and energy systems into a comprehensive bio-based circular economy. We develop and integrate techniques, processes and management strategies, effectively converging technologies to intelligently crosslink highly diverse bioeconomic production systems and to control them in a knowledge-based, adaptive and largely automated manner. We conduct research in dialogue with society - knowledge-motivated and application-inspired.

At the earliest possible date, we are seeking a

Postdoc (m/w/d)

project AgroHyd-X

You will support the working group „Water productivity in Agriculture (AgroHyd)” in the project „Use of X-band weather radar for high-resolution precipitation detection and site-specific management in the context of climate-adapted agriculture (AgroHyd-X)”. Funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) State of Brandenburg (ILB).

Your responsibilities

  • Derivation of simplifying parameters and their integration into our AgroHyd Farmodel
  • Modeling and calculation of water-relevant indicators (e.g. water productivity)
  • Comparison of different models (e.g. irrigation management software)
  • Coordination and organization of the cooperation with two farms
  • Public relations/knowledge communication
  • Preparation of scientific publications
  • Support with the organization and writing of reports

Your qualifications

  • Successfully completed studies and doctorate in the field of agricultural sciences, hydrology, geoecology or equivalent
  • In-depth knowledge of arable and crop farming topics
  • Very good analytical and conceptual skills
  • Knowledge of models and modeling setup
  • Very good knowledge of German and English language, both written and spoken
  • EU driving license class B

The remuneration depends on your qualifications and professional experience, up to salary group 14 TV-L. The position is a part-time position with 50 % (20 hours per week), limited until 30.06.2028.
