Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB), Potsdam

The Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy is a pioneer and a driver of bioeconomy research. We create the scientific foundation to transform agricultural, food, industrial and energy systems into a comprehensive bio-based circular economy. We develop and integrate techniques, processes and management strategies, effectively converging technologies to intelligently crosslink highly diverse bio economic production systems and to control them in a knowledge-based, adaptive and largely automated manner. We conduct research in dialogue with society - knowledge-motivated and application-inspired.

As of November 1, 2024, for the EU-project AGRO-WELL, we, in the Technology Assessment department, subject to the approval of funds, are looking for a

Doctoral student (m/f/d) (65 %)

The EU project AGRO-WELL, funded for 60 months, investigates the relationship of farmers and agricultural workers to occupational safety and health protection, as well as their experiences with novel technologies to improve occupational safety and working conditions. In addition, novel technologies are developed together with farmers and relevant stakeholders and the potential social, economic and environmental impacts of the technologies are examined. The project takes a multi-dimensional and highly interdisciplinary approach to improve knowledge and technological evidence for the transition to an environmentally, economically and socially sustainable agricultural sector.
