Climate Impact Data Analyst (m/f/d)

in Research Department 2, Working Group Urban Transformation, starting preferably as soon as possible.

The position is funded until the end of September 2025. Remuneration is in accordance with the German public tariff scheme (TV-L Brandenburg), salary group E 13. This is a full-time position with a weekly working time of 40 hours per week. The position can also be filled on a part-time basis.

Key responsibilities:

• Processing and analyzing of climate impact data, especially climate extremes in the LOCALISED project for different use cases
• Developing the planned tool named ‘LOCALISED Climate Action Strategiser’ (CAST) together with partners from other EU countries
• Evaluation of existing models and theories, e.g. sectoral emission modeling for different urban sectors with a focus on extreme climate events
• Leading problem solving within the project consortium with regard to data harmonisation and accuracy, as well as keeping an eye on the usefulness of the data for the purposes of the users

Requirements:

• Master degree in forestry or agriculture or other landuse related subjects as well as climate or computer sciences
• Very good skills in data processing and assessment of different data sources
• Solid knowledge on data management, open data and related topics
• Ability to work in a larger transdisciplinary research consortium, where solutions need to be coordinated among different partners
• Technical skills like expierence in modeling (R, Python or other), GIS, GIT, open source software is very welcome
• Very good knowledge in oral and written English
